Day one of the Routine Chart experiment went fabulously! Emma was up at 6:30 a.m. sharp. She was running around the house like a drill sergeant doing everything on her routine chart and barking out orders at everyone else. I finally had to tell her that she is only responsible for her own routines.
Gibson also did everything without a single reminder. He even picked up his pajamas in the bathroom and hung up his towel. (Something I have been doing every day for the past 2 years)
I'm not sure how the afternoon routines went because I was busy running errands, but as far as I can tell it worked out fine.
How are the rest of you doing?

Congratulations! So was routines number 1 of 52?
Yes...we are off and running with the first tool card of the year! 51 weeks to go.
So these are the tools for positive discipline? I was wondering if you would be scanning in the picture of the cards too? I really like this idea and I'm going to attempt to put it into practice at home with my 2 older boys.
No, we will not be scanning the actual cards. We will be discussing a new Tool Card each week. The Tool Cards are available for purchase and we are also working on a downloadable version. An iPhone App is also on the wish list.
I'm embarrassed to say that I'm still waiting for the kids to actually make up their charts!!! I mentioned a couple of times that I'm curious to see what they came up with, and even did my routine chart up so they'd get the idea. We've had charts before but I was hoping now that they're older they'd have fun doing their own. I'm not giving up though!
